Rules & Guidelines

1. Membership

All participants must hold a current Get Twisted Productions (GTP) membership to enter member-only side pots or classes and to earn points toward year-end awards.

  • Memberships may be purchased online, by mail, or at any sanctioned event.

  • Member-only side pots and classes are restricted to current GTP members. If a non-member enters a member-only side pot or class, their entry will remain in the payout; however, the rider will not be eligible for winnings and will not receive a refund. No exceptions.

  • All members, including youth, must have a current W-9 on file with the producer.

Membership is valid for the calendar year (January 1 – December 31).

2. Eligible Events

Only sanctioned events listed on the official Get Twisted Productions website qualify for points and year-end awards.

3. Participant Eligibility

Participants of all ages and experience levels are welcome to participate.

  • Youth: 18 years old and younger

  • Open: Any age

We promote a family-friendly environment and encourage participation from riders of all backgrounds.

4. Points & Awards

4.1 How Points Are Earned

Points are awarded based on placement in the Open 4D and Youth 3D pole classes at sanctioned events.

Points accumulate throughout the season and determine year-end awards.

All sanctioned Open and Youth pole runs

are eligible.

4.2 Format

Open: 4D format (1-second splits)

Youth: 3D format (1-second splits)

Points are awarded 1st–10th in each division on a 10–1 scale (10 for 1st, 9 for 2nd, etc.).

4.3 Membership Requirement

Only GTP members receive points.

Non-members are skipped in the placings when points are assigned.

Divisions are always determined from the fastest time in the class, regardless of membership.

4.4 Year-End Awards

Year-end awards will be presented to at least the division champion in each Open 4D and Youth 3D division.

5. Tie Rules

Ties in Event Placings

Example:

  • If two members tie for 1st place with a time of 22.000, both receive 10 points (1st and 2nd combined). The next member receives 8 points.

6. Earning Points Across Divisions

You may earn points only once per division per event.

Example A:
Two horses fall into 2D → you earn points only for the higher-placing horse.

Example B:
One horse places in 2D and another in 3D → you earn points in both divisions.

7. Final Standings & Division Ranking

Your final ranking is based on the division in which you finish the highest in the Open and/or Youth class.

Example A:
1st in 1D and 1st in 2D → awarded for 1D.

Example B:
2nd in 1D and 1st in 2D → awarded for 2D (higher placing).

8. End-of-Season Tie Breakers

If members finish the season with the same number of points, ties will be broken by:

  1. Most shows attended

  2. Most consistent division placing

    • 2a. If tied, NTs will be compared. Fewest wins.

  3. Combined time for all runs in the tied division – lowest total time wins

  4. If still tied, coin flip

9. Conduct

Unsportsmanlike conduct, horse abuse, or any form of misconduct may result in disqualification, loss of points, or membership revocation without refund.

All participants—including members, vendors, sponsors, spectators, and guests—must respect event staff and follow all event rules.

10. Sponsors & Promotions

Sponsors may provide awards, prizes, monetary contributions, or promotional support at events.

11. Amendments
